Chaplaincy plays a vital role in the faith and pastoral mission of our School and Colleges. This 2 year course is relevant to those wishing to become Catholic Lay Chaplains in Schools and Colleges or Youth Workers in Parishes and Retreat Centres.
The Apprenticeship prepares you for these four essential roles:
Evangelisation and Catechesis through the proclamation of the Word.
Responding to the sacramental and spiritual needs of the school & college.
Pastoral care of the pupils and staff
Facilitating links between the school and parishes
On-the Job Training will be undertaken in Schools, Colleges, Parishes and Retreat Centres.
Formation will be supported by Diocesan led retreats, continued professional development sessions and 1-1 Mentoring
Qualification validation by St Mary’s University in:
Children, Young people and Families Practitioner Certificate, Level 4
Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS)
You can get apprenticeship funding to help pay for apprenticeship training.
To access the apprenticeship levy you must have: an annual pay bill over £3 million must report and pay the apprenticeship levy through the PAYE process.
